“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

It’s probably one of the first questions we were ever asked.

Back then, the answers came easily. Doctor. Lawyer. Engineer. Firefighter. Maybe even astronaut if you were feeling ambitious.

As we grew older, those childhood answers slowly turned into real-life expectations. Graduate. Find a good job. Build a career. Get promoted. Buy a house. Get married. Start a family.

Then, after every milestone, another question quietly appears:

Now what?

Maybe you’re reading this while figuring out your twenties. Maybe you’re well into your thirties or forties and wondering if this is really what you imagined life would look like. Or maybe things are actually going well, but you still can’t shake the feeling that there’s got to be more than simply moving from one goal to the next.

If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in good company.

Truth is, I don’t have life figured out either.

This blog isn’t written by someone who’s “made it.” It’s written by someone who’s still learning—through work, mistakes, ordinary days, and the occasional moments that make me stop and think, “Maybe there’s more to this than I realized.”

That’s where the name In the Meantime came from.

Life isn’t only about the big milestones. Most of it happens in between them.

It’s in the ordinary Tuesdays.

The commute to work.

The coffee before a busy day.

The conversations with friends.

The deadlines.

The quiet evenings.

The seasons where it feels like nothing exciting is happening, even though those might be the moments shaping us the most.

This little corner of the internet is where I’ll be writing about those things.

Work and calling.

Money and stewardship.

Books worth reading.

Lessons I’m still learning.

Questions I’m still asking.

And every now and then, the deeper hopes that help make sense of everyday life.

I don’t expect you to agree with everything I write. In fact, I hope this becomes more of a conversation than a lecture.
